Ocean Ridge police said that they have arrested 63-year-old Richard Lucibella, after being accused of being intoxicated along with Lieutenant Steven Wohlfiel.

Lucibella was charged with resisting arrest with violence, firing a weapon in residential or public property and using a firearm under the influence of alcohol.

He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail, and his bail was set at $3,000.

According to the criminal complaint, the police were called on Saturday night to the 5700 block of Old Ocean Boulevard, on reports of shots fired.

Officers found Lucibella sitting outside his home along with the police lieutenant. When officers approached, they saw Lucibella removing a gun from his lap and placing it on a chair.

He then sat on top of the weapon. Lucibella was ordered to stand up, and they recovered a Glock .40-caliber pistol. Several spent shells were found in the area.

When asked if any of the two men had other weapons in their possession, Lucibella pulled a semiautomatic pistol from his back pocket.

Lucibella then became belligerent and uncooperative, and tried to enter his house to get another alcoholic beverage. After he was blocked from entering his home, Lucibella pushed an officer in the chest several times and became violent.

During the scuffle, Lucibella suffered an injury to his left eye, but refused medical treatment.
