A young woman was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly beating her boyfriend to death because he locked her out of their house, according to police in Japan.

Saitama police said that they have arrested 22-year-old Momoko Yamazaki, after being accused of punching her boyfriend until he died because she found herself locked out of the house when she came home from shopping.

According to the police investigation, on Friday morning, Yamazaki went shopping and came late at night. When she tried to get into the home they shared, she found the door locked.

After banging on the door for several minutes, she managed to enter the home. She confronted her boyfriend, who said that he locked her out because she went shopping all day.

Yamazaki became angry and began to punch her boyfriend in the face until he passed out. On Saturday morning, Yamazaki called her mother to say that her boyfriend did not wake up.

The mother found the victim unresponsive on the floor and called the police.
