A man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after allegedly driving drunk following a football game, according to police in South Carolina.

Rock Hill police said that they have arrested 45-year-old Patrick David Butler, after being seen by officers driving erratically late at night.

In court, Butler pleaded not guilty to one count of driving under the influence.

According to the criminal complaint, on Monday around 12:30 a.m., police saw Butler swerve his Nissan to avoid hitting the curb in the 500 block of Heckle Boulevard.

Officers then followed the vehicle and saw the driver crossing the median several times.

When they pulled over the vehicle, officers saw Butler spraying AXE body spray into this mouth, apparently in an effort to mask an alcohol odor.

Butler admitted that he drank two beers and a shot of whiskey while watching football. He was given three field sobriety test, and he failed all of them.

A breathalyzer showed that his blood alcohol content level was at 0.13 while the legal limit is 0.08.
