Fight over right to dig through garbage bin leads to stabbing of homeless man

Police are looking to arrest a homeless man on a charge of assault after allegedly stabbing another homeless man during a dispute over who has the right to dig through a garbage dumpster, according to police in California.

Fresno police said that the incident unfolded on Sunday around 8:30 p.m., at the Shell gas station, which is located near the Manchester Center.

According to the police investigation, the homeless victim got into a dispute with the suspect while digging through the dumpster at the gas station.

The suspect claimed that he has the right to the garbage bin, and tried to stop the victim from dumpster diving. During the dispute, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to the Community Regional Medical Center, where he is said to be in critical condition.

The suspect was described as a white male with blond hair, around 25 years old. He was wearing a white sweater with gray stripes, and blue pants.
