Car hits deer sending it flying into pedestrian and breaking his bones

Police launched an investigation after a man suffered broken bones as a result of being hit by a flying deer, according to police in Tennessee.

Clarksville Police said that the incident unfolded on Thursday around 5:30 p.m., as 57-year-old Rae J. Martin was driving her 2004 Pontiac Montana on Dover Road.

A deer ran into the road, and the woman’s vehicle hit the animal. The deer went airborne as a result of the impact before landing on a pedestrian.

36-year-old Robert C. Hayes suffered broken bones and he was taken to the Tennova Healthcare for treatment. Martin did not suffer any injuries, but her vehicle was damaged.

No charges have been filed.
