A mother in the United Kingdom, revealed that she solved the mystery of her missing socks after several months of finding odd socks around the home.

37-year-old Kathryn Danby of Leadgate, said that her 5-month-old dog George, developed a habit of swallowing women’s socks.

Over the course of several months, the mother of two children found odd socks around the house. One day, when she went to clean up the mess that her dog left in the back yard, she noticed that George had defecated a sock.

That is when she realized that her dog was to blame for the missing socks.

At first, Danby could not figure out from where the dog gets all the socks as it is not allowed into their bedrooms, but one day George was seen sticking its head into the washing machine.

George consumed the socks of 4-year-old Kathryn and 12-year-old Millie. For an unknown reason, the dog did not consume the socks belonging to 42-year-old Mark.

One day, the dog was sick and vomited.

George was taken to the Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital, where a vet took X-rays, showing that a sock was stuck on its stomach.

The dog underwent surgery and the sock was removed. Vet Gemma Taylor advised Danby to use a muzzle to stop the dog from eating socks in the future.

Danby estimated that the dog ate around 15 pairs of socks.
