(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly throwing bricks at police during a long standoff, according to police in the United Kingdom.
London police said that they have arrested the 30-year-old man, who was not identified, after being accused of climbing on a roof and throwing bricks at police for seven hours.
The incident began on Saturday around 5:00 a.m., when police were called to Heath Road, on a report of a man with a head injury.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury. While police were at the scene, the 30-year-old man climbed onto a nearby roof and began throwing bricks at police.
He stayed on the roof for more than 7 hours. At some point, the man demanded chocolate bars and water in exchange for his surrender.
After 7 hours, the man came down from the roof and he was arrested. During the standoff, police shut down Heath Road, causing a major traffic jam.
People gathered at the scene, where they took videos and photos of the screaming man. A homeowner in the area told police that four windows were smashed by the suspect.
