A man was arrested on a charge of possession of child porn after being accused of keeping a stash of 2 million child porn images on electronic devices, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Now, 32-year-old Simon Pattison of Stockton, has been given a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children, one count of possessing prohibited images of children and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images.

Pattison was given a 12-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years. He was banned from having contact with children.

Police will also monitor his Internet use.

Pattison received a lenient sentence after his attorney told a judge that his client did not share the child porn images with anyone.

Pattison had a girlfriend when he was 27 years old. After a few months, that relationship ended and he kept to himself ever since.

Pattison then started downloading child porn images on his computers. He amassed 2 million child porn images.

Investigators just looked over a small amount of files as they did not have the time to review so many images. The images showed girls as young as 5 years old having sex with adult men.
