(Scroll down for video) A woman was taken to a hospital after she was shot with the gun that her husband bought her as a gift.

29-year-old Alyssa Lewis Glosson was hit by a bullet with the gun that her husband had just bought at the Dixie Gun & Knife Classic gun show in North Carolina.

Alyssa was hit in the head. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was treated for her wounds.

Alyssa, her husband William, 30, and a relative, attended the weapons show because the husband who owns a gun, wanted to buy his wife a matching weapon as a gift.

When the three returned to the couple's truck and were preparing to leave the fairgrounds, William handed over his personal weapon and the one he had bought for his wife to Judd in the back seat so she can compare the two.

Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said that Judd accidentally pulled the trigger and hit Alyssa in the head.

“William said ‘Look at this’, and somehow or another when she grabbed it, the gun went off,” Harrison said.
