Police launched an investigation after two hunters opened fire at a woman who was mistaken for a deer, according to police in Arkansas.
The Searcy County Sheriff’s Office said that the father and son shot 29-year-old woman Stephanie Bonine, after mistaking her for a deer while hunting on Tuesday morning around 9:00 a.m.
The woman was the son’s girlfriend.
According to the police investigation, the woman might have been mistaken for a deer because she was not wearing hunter orange clothes.
Her body was sent to a lab for an autopsy. So far, no arrests have been made.
