(Scroll down for video) A woman was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries after opening the emergency exit door of a plane and jumping, according to police in Texas.

The incident unfolded on Monday afternoon, after the United Airlines flight landed at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

The commercial plane, Flight 1892, left from New Orleans, Louisiana, earlier in the day. A passenger who was seated next to the woman, began recording the scene on the plane after the woman jumped out.

Passengers feared that the woman might have left something behind on the plane to harm them. However, nothing was found.

The woman suffered severe but non-life threatening injuries.

So far, no charges have been filed. The FBI is investigating the woman, and she will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Hampton Friedman, who was a passenger on the plane, said that the woman acted normal throughout the flight, and the incident came as a shock to everyone on board.
