A man panicked and called police after he was unable to stop his car.
The driver told police that his car was stuck in cruise control at 119 miles per hour, during his desperate call to 999 minutes before he was beheaded, the Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court heard.
During the call, 32-year-old Kaushal Gandhi told the Thames Valley Police dispatcher that he was unable to switch off the cruise control to stop his car.
The eight-minute call, which he made while he was at the wheel of his Skoda Octavia on the M40 motorway, was played in court during the investigation into his death.
The dispatcher heard the car crash when Gandhi’s vehicle hit the back of a tractor trailer. His car went underneath the truck, causing his head to be cut off.
Investigators who examined the remains of the vehicle, said that almost the entire car was embedded under the truck with only its rear wheels sticking out. The roof was ripped off.
However, they found no evidence of any malfunction.
The toxicological tests did not find substances that could have affected Gandh’s driving.
