A thief managed to walk away with a pot of gold after armored truck workers were distracted for several seconds, according to police in New York.

The New York Police Department said that they are looking to arrest the thief on a charge of robbery after being seen stealing a pot of gold worth about $1.6 million from an armored truck in Manhattan.

The incident unfolded in middle of the day on W. 48th Street, and was recorded on video. The surveillance video shows the man lurking and watching the armored truck.

The man made his move when one of the guards left the truck while the other guard went to the front of the vehicle to get his cellphone.

In those 20 seconds, the thief managed to grab an 86-pound pot and walked away from the scene. Police believe that the man had no idea what was inside the pot.

The thief walked one block to W. 49th Street, where he sat into a truck and drove off. Police believe that the men fled to Florida, and is hiding in Orlando or Miami.
