(Scroll down for video) A mother in Argentina, placed her daughter in front of an oncoming train to avoid paying for the fare.

Surveillance video of the incident shows the mother arriving with her young daughter to the train station in Buenos Aires.

Instead of walking to the booth to buy tickets for herself and her daughter, the mother decided to walk on the tracks to get to the other side of the ticket barrier.

The mother lowered her 10-year-old daughter onto the tracks before she attempted to follow her.

However, she suddenly realized that a train was coming towards them. The mother managed to jump back onto the platform, but she was unable to pull her daughter up.

Crowds of people who rushed over to see what happened to the girl, were amazed to see that she survived by squeezing herself very close to the platform wall.

The railway company spokesperson said: “She was also extremely lucky to avoid electrocution by the 830 volt current that runs along the tracks.”
