A woman in Argentina, who lost her husband, decided to marry her own stepdaughter after getting close to her during the marriage to her father.

The unconventional couple of Rosario, met after the stepmother married an older man who had a daughter from an earlier marriage who was about the same age as her.

After the husband passed away, the stepmother, 33, grew closer to her stepdaughter, 32, and the two finally began a romantic relationship.

They applied for a marriage license, but their application was rejected because the law prohibited child-parent unions. The women field a lawsuit, claiming that the law violated their constitutional right to be happy.

Family Judge Ricardo Dutto agreed with the couple, and declared the law unconstitutional. The judge stated that the Constitution guarantees every citizen "the right to be happy.”

Several years ago, the country legalized same sex marriages, but parent-child unions remained illegal even when the two were not blood relatives.
