(Scroll down for video) A cat is lucky to be alive after being shipped across the country for a week, according to an animal hospital in Tennessee.

The Park Avenue Animal Hospital of Memphis, said that Joey the cat, jumped into a packaging machine in Chicago, Illinois, and got shrink wrapped.

Seven days later, a UPS truck driver heard a cat crying in the back of his truck. The UPS driver went to the back of his truck and found the cat that was packaged like merchandise.

The driver immediately took the cat to the Park Avenue Animal Hospital. The cat was very dehydrated and hungry, and was unable to move its legs.

After a week, the cat learned to walk again and gained a pound.

The hospital has put the 5-week-old cat up for adoption. Police do not believe that this was a case of animal abuse.
