Waitress gets $25,000 after slipping on pigeon poop while serving customers

A waitress suffered serious injuries after slipping on pigeon poop while serving customers at a restaurant, according to court documents in Ireland.

25-year-old Leann Walsh of Dublin, said that she slipped and fell while serving customers at the Heuston Refreshment Rooms, which is located at a train stop of the Irish Rail Company.

According to the lawsuit filed against the restaurant, Walsh had been serving customers who were sitting outdoors when she stepped on pigeon poop.

She slipped and fell, causing her to suffer injuries to her ankle, knees and lower back. In court, the attorney of the restaurant denied being responsible for the slip and fall.

Heuston Refreshment Rooms claimed that they have urged the Irish Rail Company to deal with the pigeon problem, but they refused to do anything.

The judge awarded the woman $25,000 in damages. The judge also ordered the Irish Rail Company to pay the damages.
