A mother became extremely angry when her young children decided to open their Christmas presents too early, according to police in Indiana.

Hancock County police said that they have arrested 36-year-old Sascha Collins, after being accused of beating her two children, who are 7 and 9 years old.

Collins has been charged with two counts of battery. If convicted, she faces up to 12 years in prison. According to the criminal complaint, the incident unfolded in the family home on Sunday.

The boys’ sister came home in the morning, and found her two brothers upset and crying.

The boys told their sister that they were beaten with a belt and thrown against a wall for opening the Christmas presents that were hidden in their mother’s closet.

Collins also bit one of the kids. Collins’ teenage daughter called the police. The girl told police that her mother is an alcoholic and did drugs on Saturday night.

Collins allegedly admitted to assaulting her two sons.
