Going on business trip or on vacation can be a lot of fun, but getting there with an airplane may be stressful.

Here are some tips to make your trip to the airport more relaxing and pleasant.

Prepare your luggage the night before. Don’t wait for the last minute to pack your stuff.

Packing may seem to be a daunting task as you have to decide what to take along and what to leave behind.

Packing the night before you are scheduled to fly, will take that stress away and you will have a better night’s sleep.

Weigh your bag at home. Buy a scale so you can be sure that your suitcase is not overweight.

Doing so will give you an opportunity to decided what you can leave at home if the suitcase is overweight. This will also help you avoid the aggravation of having to pay extra money for an overweight suitcase.

Make sure you have all your things in order. This includes up-to-date passports, visas, tickets, and debit card or credit cards.

Don't leave anything for the day of the trip. Do your last minute shopping the day before the trip. If you have to visit a family member to say goodbye before you fly, do it the day before.

Leaving things to do on the day of your trip will only add stress to your day.

Use the day of your trip to prepare entertainment for yourself. Do things such as filling up your laptop, iPad, Kindle, Nook or eReader, with movies, music or books.

Leave to the airport one hour earlier than planned so you can take it easy in case you run into traffic.

When you get to the airport or while waiting on long lines to check in, call old friends or family members who you don't get to speak to very often. This will help you relax and enjoy your waiting time.

Come with a positive attitude. Screening agents are working to keep everyone safe. Be polite, and don’t make jokes that might get the security personal on edge.

Another advantage of getting to the airport early is that you will have time to relax and eat a good meal at one of the restaurants.

When you are done and you still have time, you can catch up with more friends or watch funny videos, play games on your phone or read. This way you start your trip in a positive way.

Once on board the plane, you will be with a large group of many different people and sometimes crying babies.

Try not to let anything bother you on the airplane. Remember, the flight will last for just a few hours and nothing is worth ruining your trip.
