The armed man did not ask for money. Instead, he demanded to be streamed live on the store owner’s Facebook page.

Abdul Aziz, who is the owner of Jersey Street deli in Staten Island, New York, became a local celebrity with a large Facebook following.

On the day of the incident, 30-year-old Rasheem Harrison walked into the deli and waved a knife at the owner.

Aziz said that he felt like a hostage in his store and he feared for his life, but he remained calm and complied with Harrison’s demands to be on live on Facebook.

Aziz, who is known on Facebook as AK A. Isaac, has nearly 7,000 followers and he often posts videos for his customers.

After being live on Facebook, Harrison stole one ice cream cone. He ate the cone and then walked out of the store.

Police said that the Facebook video of the robbery will be used as evidence against Harrison.

He was charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. His bail was set at $25,000.
