A mother in Maumelle, Arkansas, said that she was shocked to learn that someone bought items on her Amazon account.
Bethany Johnson Howell said that she checked her Amazon account and saw that someone ordered 13 Pokemon toys for a total of $250.
At first, the mother thought that someone hacked her account. However, she soon realized that all the items were being shipped to her home.
Howell immediately suspected that her 6-year-old daughter may have been behind it. She confronted her daughter Ashlynd about it.
The girl confessed and told her mother “Mommy, I was shopping.”
Howell said that her daughter used her fingerprints to open the phone after she fell asleep on the couch.
Howell contacted Amazon and they allowed her to return four of the items.
She then informed her daughter that she could not keep all of the gifts “because Santa Claus knew of how she bought the gifts.”
Howell said that in the past, she allowed her daughter to use her phone to open the YouTube and Netflix apps. This time however, she opened the Amazon app and ordered items she wanted.
Howell learned that Ashlynd was able to fill in the shipping address because of the “auto-fill” feature.
Howell’s credit card information was saved in the system because she is subscribed to Amazon Prime.
