People who are under the age of 25, will no longer be allowed into a popular New York bar due to numerous complaints made by nearby residents.

The manager of the Phil’s Crummy Corner restaurant and bar, revealed that the new age limit went into effect after one neighbor complaint that youngsters are acting like animals.

The national minimum drinking age in the country is 21.

Isabel Santiago, who is the manager of the bar located at 323 Columbia Street in Brooklyn, said that the main concern was that the youngsters were disturbing the neighbors.

She also said that since the bar also is a family restaurant, the ban will only be in effect from 10:00 p.m. The bar is also considering making an exception for well behaved youngsters.

Records show that neighbors filed 22 complaints in the past year, mainly about loud noise. One neighbor said that the youngsters are acting like animals, talking loudly and leaving empty beer bottles everywhere.

Another neighbor complained that many customers park their vehicles on the sidewalk and that parties end as late as 4 in the morning.

Recently, Leon Richey, 21, was arrested at the bar for punching a woman. When he was searched, police found 18 bags of marijuana in his pocket.

The incident unfolded at 4:30 a.m.
