Barahona was fired from her job as a public school teacher at the DeWitt Clinton High School, where she taught science, after she made headlines for having an affair with her student.

She became pregnant by the teenager who is the father of the now deceased 4-year-old boy.

Barahona and her student shared custody of the boy. According to the father’s family member, the former teacher and her student went to court after he wanted custody of their son because he was unhappy with the way she was raising him.

According to police, Infante was charged with two counts of first-degree murder after he admitted to killing his former lover and his son.
