(Scroll down for video) A man who was stricken with cancer, was very happy with the news that he won free pizza for a year.

36-year-old Josh Katrick of Pennsylvania, said that he had just finished his eighth round of chemotherapy when he received the email from a restaurant.

Katrick was one of 12,000 people, who entered the raffle to win two free pizza pies and a free two-liter soda every month from Mario’s Pizza in Northampton.

Katrick won the raffle. However, instead of keeping the pies for himself, Katrick, who had colon cancer, decided to help other people in need.

“I got so much love and support from people I didn’t know. This was my opportunity to give back to people I don’t know.” Katrick said.

The store owners, who were very touched by Katrick’s kindhearted gesture, decided to give the prize to both Katrick and the food bank.
