Top football player suspended after being caught shoplifting from department store

A top football player has been suspended by his team after being caught shoplifting during a shopping spree at a department store in North Carolina.

Charlotte police said that 22-year-old Jeremy Sprinkle, who is the senior tight end for the Arkansas Razorbacks, was caught with eight items in a bag worth approximately $260.

He was charged with unlawful concealment.

According to the police investigation, Sprinkle attempted to steal items from the Belk department store at the SouthPark Mall on Tuesday.

Arkansas was in Belk for a shopping spree. Each player of Arkansas and Virginia Tech, had 90 minutes to use a $450 gift card on anything in the store.

Each player also received a Fossil watch. Sprinkle allegedly attempted to take $260 worth of items on top of the $450 of items he purchased with the gift card.

The items were identified as follows;

Black Ralph Lauren shirt worth $55

Blue-striped classic-fit boxer – $16

Tandoori spice marl collared shirt – $45

Gray collared shirt – $45

Nike black crew socks – $18

SB Tech black XL shirt – $12.99

Tan Nautica wallet – $38

Brown wallet – $30
