(Scroll down for video) People are angry after a charity served dog food to senior citizens in Germany.
At least three senior citizens reported that the Osnabrucker Tafel charity delivered dog food to their homes on Friday.
The dog food came in a glass jar and had a label that said: “from the land.” The contents was described as meat and potatoes in vegetables.
In small letters at the top of the jar it said: “gourmet food for animals. Since the print was very small, many senior citizens didn't realize that they were given dog food.
An employee of Osnabrucker Tafel said that the charity collects five tons of surplus food from sponsors every day, orders products to its headquarters and then taken the items to families and individuals in need.
"We are very sorry for the confusion," the employee said. The manufacturer of the dog food said that their products are harmless to humans.
