A man was arrested on a charge of burglary after posing as a window cleaner in order to gain access to homes, and steal cash and computers, police in the United Kingdom said.
Hatfield police said that they have arrested 32-year-old Ben Robertson, after being accused of tricking residents into giving him money for work he never did.
Now, he has been sentenced to serve 12 months in prison after being convicted of fraud and burglary.
According to the police investigation, Robertson knocked on doors along Old French Lane, claiming he was owed money for cleaning windows.
At one house, a resident believed him and handed over the money. Three days later, he knocked on doors along St. Albans Road.
He was let into the house, where he stole an iPad.
