Man poses as window cleaner to steal cash and computers from homes

A man was arrested on a charge of burglary after posing as a window cleaner in order to gain access to homes, and steal cash and computers, police in the United Kingdom said.

Hatfield police said that they have arrested 32-year-old Ben Robertson, after being accused of tricking residents into giving him money for work he never did.

Now, he has been sentenced to serve 12 months in prison after being convicted of fraud and burglary.

According to the police investigation, Robertson knocked on doors along Old French Lane, claiming he was owed money for cleaning windows.

At one house, a resident believed him and handed over the money. Three days later, he knocked on doors along St. Albans Road.

He was let into the house, where he stole an iPad.

Father shakes his premature baby to death because she cried too much

A father was arrested on a charge of murder after shaking his premature baby until she died, police in the United Kingdom said.

Now, 26-year-old Tomas Driukas of Perry Barr, has been sentenced to serve at least 21 years in prison after being convicted of murder in connection with the death of 5-month-old Deimante Driukaite.

According to the police investigation, Driukas became frustrated after his premature baby cried a lot while his wife went to work and left the baby under his care.

One morning, an ambulance was called to his home on Crantock Road, because the young girl was not breathing.

Paramedics found Driukaite in an unresponsive state, and she was immediately taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Throughout the day, medical staff attempted to resuscitate Driukaite, but she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

Following a medical examination of the young child, doctors discovered a number of injuries to her body, which included multiple fractures to the ribs and a major brain trauma.

Following a post-mortem examination, a Home Office Pathologist concluded that the injuries suffered by the child were non-accidental, and most likely to have been caused by more than one episode of violent shaking.

Police arrested Driukas, in whose care the child had been at the time she collapsed.

The baby's father was found guilty of his daughter's murder, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and a further count of causing grievous bodily harm.

Mother kills newborn baby she did not want by dumping him in garbage can after abortion failed

A woman was arrested on a charge of murder after dumping her newborn baby in a garbage can because she didn't want to raise him, police in the United Arab Emirates said.

Now, the 31-year-old woman identified as S.S. of Dubai, has been sentenced to serve life in prison after being convicted of murder in connection with the killing of her newborn son.

She was also sentenced to serve one year in jail for having sex out of wedlock. According to the police investigation, the defendant had sex with a man out of wedlock, which resulted in her pregnancy.

The woman went to have an illegal abortion, but the procedure failed. After giving birth to her baby, she dumped the boy in a garbage can and left him there to die.

Two sanitation workers found the baby in the garbage can, and called the police. The baby was still breathing when the men found him, but he died at a hospital.

In court, the woman told the judge that she did not intend to kill the child, and she threw him away because she didn’t want to raise him.

She also admitted to have sex out of wedlock, resulting in the pregnancy.

Doctors remove 128 heroin capsules from smuggler’s stomach

A man was arrested on a charge of drug trafficking after allegedly swallowing 128 capsules of heroin in order to smuggle them into the country, police in the United Arab Emirates said.

Ras Al Khaimah police said that they have arrested the smuggler identified as A.K.K., after being accused of trying to smuggle heroin from Pakistan into the country in exchange for cash.

He was charged with one count of drug trafficking. Police said that they received a tip about the suspect before he arrived at the airport.

Several police officers waited at the airport for the suspect to arrive. The officers monitored the passenger upon arrival, and he looked worried and scared.

He was detained for questioning, and he confessed to having heroin capsules in the stomach. He was taken to a hospital, where 128 capsules were removed from his stomach.

The 128 capsules of heroin weighed three pounds, and is worth around $136,130.

Man beats up his roommate because he turned on the light of his bedroom in middle of the night

A man was arrested on a charge of assault after beating up his roommate because he switched on the light of his bedroom in middle of the night, police in the United Arab Emirates said.

Now, the 33-year-old man identified as K.B. of Dubai, has been sentenced to serve 3 months in prison after being convicted of assault and consuming alcohol.

According to the police investigation, the 47-year-old roommate, who was not identified, came home around 10:00 p.m. and went into the defendant’s bedroom.

The victim switched on the light, causing the defendant to wake up from his sleep. The defendant then punched the victim in the face numerous times.

A manager of the apartment building who heard the commotion, rushed over to help the victim, who suffered from severe injuries on his face.

The manager called the police, and the defendant was arrested. The victim was taken to a hospital,where he was treated and released.

The victim suffered a permanent disability to his face, a court was told. The defendant admitted to getting drunk and beating his roommate.

Mother leaves her crying daughter behind in burning house and goes to her friend

(Scroll down for video) A mother was arrested on a charge of child neglect after leaving her daughter in a burning house and going to her friend's apartment, police in Florida said.

Miami police said that they have arrested 32-year-old Erica Rosello, after being accused of abandoning her 6-year-old daughter in the burning apartment.

She was charged with one count of child neglect, and was banned from having any contact with her daughter.

According to the police investigation, the fire spread throughout the house after Rosello poured water on an oil fire in the kitchen.

She became separated from her daughter, who was in a bedroom, and ran out of the apartment before stopping a car and asking the driver to take her to a friend's house.

A neighbor who saw smoke coming out from the apartment, broke a window and pulled the girl out of her bed and to safety.

She was unconscious and suffering from smoke inhalation.

Firefighters were called to the apartment, and the girl was taken to the Nicklaus Children's Hospital.

Meanwhile, Rosello called her mother, Angelica Tabio, who told her that the 6-year-old girl was in the hospital.

Rosello later arrived at the hospital, where she was arrested.

Thief puts on Walmart uniform and steals four televisions from store

A thief who disguised himself as a Walmart employee, is being sought by police after allegedly stealing four televisions, police in Virginia said.

Chesterfield County police said that thief, who was not identified, was seen walking into the Walmart store dressed with an official employee uniform before approaching the televisions aisle.

Employees of the Walmart store, handed over video surveillance that showed the thief taking four expensive televisions and walking out through an emergency door.

He loaded them a waiting SUV and drove away from the scene.

The suspect is not an employee of the Walmart store or any store in the neighborhood. The thief is described as a black man, around 25 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and has a thin build.

He was wearing tan pants and a light gray hoodie.

18-year-old woman has sex with father in playground before having sex with five boys

(Scroll down for video) A teenager who accused five boys of gang raping her in a playground, admitted that she made up the accusations and the sexual encounter was consensual, police in New York said.

The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office announced that it has dropped all charges against Denzel Murray, 14, Shaquell Cooper, 15, Ethan Phillip, 15, Onandi Brown, 17, and Travis Beckford, 17, after the 18-year-old woman recanted her story about being raped inside the Osborn Playground in the Brownsville.

The teens claimed all along that they saw the woman having sex with her 39-year-old father before approaching and having sex with her in the playground at the same time.

After the incident, the father and the woman, who were not identified, filed a complaint of rape against the teens. All five teens were charged with one count of rape, two counts of criminal sex act and one count of sex abuse.

Police have not filed any charges against the father or woman for filing a false police report.

Father kills his baby because he was jealous of her for getting all the attention from his wife

A father was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly killing his baby because she got all the attention from his wife, police in New York said.

Syracuse police said that they have arrested 25-year-old Ryan Lawrence, after being accused of killing 1-year-old Maddox Lawrence, burning her body and dumping her in Onondaga Creek.

Ryan Lawrence was charged with one count of second-degree murder. He was booked into jail, and he was denied bail.

According to the police investigation, Ryan Lawrence had been jealous of his baby because she had taken away his wife’s attention from him.

Ryan Lawrence told police that he had killed the girl on Saturday. He then partially burned her body and dumped her in the creek.

Police recovered a body from the creek and she was partially burned. Ryan Lawrence left a note to his wife, saying that he is leaving with his baby.

Ryan Lawrence also indicated that he could harm his daughter and himself. Ryan Lawrence was caught after a friend saw him shopping in a store and he called the police.

(Scroll down for video) Batman was left red faced after being put in handcuffs and dragged to court to face justice, police in New York said.

The New York Police Department said that they have arrested 42-year-old Jose Escalona-Martinez, after being accused of stealing $50 from a tourist in Manhattan.

Escalona-Martinez was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

According to the police investigation, Escalona-Martinez, who was dressed as Batman, was taking photos with crowds of visitors near 45th Street and Broadway around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

When a 63-year-old woman from Ireland, took out her wallet to give Batman a tip, Escalona-Martinez grabbed it and took $50.

Batman then fled from the scene like a criminal. The tourist, who was not identified, called the police and Escalona-Martinez was arrested a short time later.

Neighbors accused of planting rat in outdoor grill and placing 22 piles of feces in backyard

Two men were arrested after being accused of harassing their neighbor by planting a rat on an outdoor grill, police in Canada said.

Now, the charges against 54-year-old Greg Michaels and 53-year-old Christopher Devin of Toronto, have been dropped after pleading guilty to possession of a weapon and agreeing to stay away from Steven Lostracco and Celine Bauwens, for the next 18 months.

Michaels and Devinhe denied the allegations, saying they do not know who planted the rat and feces. Lostracco and Bauwens called the police and accused their neighbors of placing 22 piles of feces in their backyard.

The neighbors were locked in a dispute over the construction of a large deck in the backyard.

Lostracco and Bauwens also claimed that Michaels and Devinhe, planted a dead rat in their outdoor grill and another inside their car.

Prostitute breaks into home to steal video of man having sex with underage girl

Two men and a prostitute were arrested on a charge of breaking and entering after allegedly breaking into a home and trying to steal a video recording of a man having sex with an underage girl, police in Canada said.

Now, Trisha Layne Daintry of Calgary, has pleaded guilty to one count of break and enter to commit robbery.

Her two male accomplices who were armed with knives, have never been caught. According to the police investigation, Daintry and the two men broke into the house of Mitchell Karazub.

Daintry knew Karazuba, because he had a habit of hiring prostitutes. Karazub woke up by the sound of the front door being kicked in.

The two men and the woman entered the home, went upstairs and bound the victim with electrical wire and tape. The robbers demanded his wallet, keys and ATM access code.

They also wanted to know where to find a video recording of him having sex with an underage girl. Karazub said that there is no such video as he ever had sex with an underage girl.

The robbers searched the home for about 15 minutes before leaving. After two hours, Karazub managed to free himself of the restraints and he called the police.
