(Scroll down for video) Three young girls are dead after they stole a car and drove it into a lake while fleeing from police, police in Florida said.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Laniya Miller, Ashaunti Butler, both 15 years old, and 16-year-old Dominique Battle, died after the stolen vehicle sunk into the lake while being chased by officers.

The girls are accused of stealing a car from a Walmart parking lot and fleeing from the police several times before driving into the lake.

Some people slammed the police for watching the girls drown and doing nothing to help them.

In response, police released a video, showing the police at the scene of the incident.

“Unfortunately, some people are irresponsibly and falsely posting on Facebook that deputies did not attempt to rescue the 3 girls who tragically drowned while fleeing from the police in a stolen car.

“The sheriff stated at the time, that deputies removed their gun belts and clothes, and tried to enter the water to rescue the girls, but the conditions in the water prevented them from doing so.

“This is exactly what happened, and we stand by that. All video regarding the incident has been released, including the clip that shows deputies who had taken off their duty gear in an effort to rescue the girls.

“The other videos being shown omits the part that shows deputies who had entered the water in their effort to rescue the girls. We are posting this clip with the hope that the false narrative being spread about this incident stops,” police wrote on Facebook.

(Scroll down for video) People in Germany, can now stay safe while using a cellphone while walking.

The country has seen an increase in tragedies and avoidable accidents due to people being busy with smartphones.

The city of Augsburg, came up with an innovative way to keep pedestrians safe while they are occupied with their phones.

The city of Augsburg, decided it is time to act, and installed traffic lights on the floor to allow people who are looking down at their screens to avoid approaching trains.

The lights have so far been installed at two train stops in the city. The lights flash red when a train is approaching or when the crosswalk light turns red.

Tobias Harms, who is a spokesperson for the city, said that they realize the normal traffic light is not in the line of sight of many pedestrians these days.

“We decided to have an additional set of lights. The more we have, the more people are likely to notice them,” Harms said.

Many people were happy with the new lights and believe that they will help save lives of those who get distracted by their phones.

Others said that they find it scary that smartphone users are so addicted to the device that the city needed to install lights in the ground.

Sadly, one teenager admitted that he did not even notice the new lights. “To be honest I didn’t even notice it. Maybe it will be useful at night,” the teen said.

Chris Sevier
By: Tanya Malhotra

An army veteran is suing the state of Texas, for the right to marry his computer.

Chris Sevier, 38, has unsuccessfully sued the state of Tennessee, Utah, and Florida, saying that if gay people are allowed to get married then he should be allowed to marry his laptop computer.

He claimed that he had fallen in love with his computer because its adult videos are more sexually satisfying than a human relationship.

Now, he has filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas, for refusing to allow him to marry his computer.

The lawsuit states that Sevier wants to marry his MacBook. However, his request for a marriage license was rejected by Harris County.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton asked a federal court to drop Sevier’s lawsuit saying: “The right to marry one’s computer is not an interest, objectively, deeply rooted in the nation’s history and tradition such that it qualifies as a protected interest.”

Teen kills deer during driving road test but still passes

Tom Lo
By: Feng Qian

A teenager of the United Kingdom, was allowed to pass a road test despite killing an animal.

While many people believe that Tom Lo should have been disqualified from driving, his driving instructor thought otherwise.

The 17-year-old boy said that he was driving about 45 miles per hour in Essex, when the deer ran in front of his car.

The driving instructor stopped the car to check the damage and found that the deer was dead after it hit and cracked the front license plate. They then proceeded with the test.

When he finished, Lo passed the test with only two minor faults.

Driving instructor Robert Jezierski said that the teen “kept his composure and he did very well.”

“We teach them the emergency stop as part of the curriculum, but it is very rarely that they have to put it into practice,” Jezierski added.

Lo said that he wanted to stop driving after the crash, but Jezierski told him to continue and he passed. This caused a firestorm on social media.

Gemma Danielle Cope said: “I think the driving instructor made the right decision. An animal ran into the road and he stayed in control of the car. He didn't panic or swerve. Are you saying that he should fail his test because a deer ran out in front of him?”

Bella Varma replied: “What if that was a pedestrian with headphones and a hoodie. A lot of those people around these days who don't look and walk straight out into the road. It would be wrong to leave them for dead.”
