A bride’s big day was ruined when her mother was taken to a hospital with a broken nose.

51-year-old Ernest Hames of England, was at the wedding of the daughter of his partner of 21 years.

Since he was a big part of the bride's life, he expected to walk her down the aisle.

However, the bride, who had been preparing her wedding for two years, had other plans. She asked her biological father to walk her down the aisle.

The Hull Crown Court heard that Hames had been drinking at the Lazaat hotel before turning on the mother of the bride.

Hames became angry after his stepdaughter asked her biological father to walk down the aisle instead of him.

When the woman saw her boyfriend getting into a drunken rage, she went to her hotel room. He soon followed her.
He then punched her in the face with force, causing her nose to bleed.

The woman then fell on the bed, and he kicked her in the back before pulling her hair. He then knelt over her and punched her with both fists, according to court documents.

The woman was taken to the Hull Royal Infirmary, where it was revealed that she had a fractured nose along with various cuts and bruises

Hames pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and he was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

His attorney, Catherine Kioko-Gilligan, said that the defendant wished to “express his utmost remorse.”

By: Chan Yuan

A man was jailed for life after killing his sister and stabbing her son over money.

Angela MacKinnon, 55, of Australia, allowed her brother to move in with her family to help him out when he fell on hard times.

However, he repaid her kindness by killing her and injuring her teenage son just 18 months after moving in with them.

The court heard how 43-year-old John Michael MacKinnon of Perth, had consumed up to 14 beers and drugs on the day of the murder.

His sister and her 19-year-old son Jesse Henwood, had also been drinking when the siblings got into an argument over money.

Angela claimed that her brother owed her some money. She allegedly slapped him and he then pushed her onto the couch.

The teenager then ordered his uncle to leave his mother alone.
While Henwood went upstairs to his bedroom, John grabbed a hunting knife and stabbed his sister several times, the court heard.

Henwood heard his mother call for help before being confronted by his uncle who was covered in blood. John told his nephew that his mother was dead and that he was next.

John used the same knife to stab his nephew before fleeing the scene. He was arrested 10 hours later after police launched a manhunt to locate him.

Attorney Belinda Lonsdale said her client “lashed out and mentally lost it, but never intended to kill his sister.”

“He loved his sister and he is still coming to terms with the fact that he caused her death. It haunts him every day,” Lonsdale said.

Justice John Chaney accepted the fact that John did not intend to kill his sister and that he is remorseful, but he said the crime had been devastating to the family.

John was ordered to serve at least 18 years of his life sentence before being eligible for parole.

A woman is furious after learning that her father is defending her husband who raped her younger sister.

Tavengew Timire, 34, of Zimbabwe, was jailed for repeatedly raping his wife’s younger sister, who is mentally disabled.

The incident came to light when the disabled woman went to live with her older sister and she told her that Timire would often sneak into her room and forced her to have sex behind his wife’s back.

The abuse allegedly occurred over a 6 month period. Ironically, the victim’s father came to the defense of his son-in-law.

The father-in-law said: “There is nothing wrong with my son-in-law having sex with his wife's younger sister. Culturally, he is allowed to have sex and even marry her.

“Besides, whether the sex was consensual or not, my daughter is just useless and you can't arrest him for having sex with her.”

Timire was fired from his job as an art teacher after his arrest.

Timire defended himself by saying that he never raped the disabled woman, and that the older sister was just making up lies against him because she was jealous of his relationship with his wife.

However, Hwange regional magistrate Dambudzo Malunga did not believe Timire and neither did his wife, who filed for divorce.

Timire was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The judge suspended two years of the sentence on condition of good behavior, leaving the rapist with an effective 13-year jail term.

(Scroll down for video) Police in Florida, said that a fugitive made their job easier by posting his wanted photo to social media.

Police were called to the home of 42-year-old Mack Yearwood in Stuart, for a domestic battery, but when officers arrived, he was no longer there.

Police released a wanted poster with Yearwood’s name and photo, and they asked the public for help in locating him.

Yearwood found the wanted photo and he changed his Facebook profile picture to the wanted poster with his mug shot on it.

One of his family members posted a comment, telling Yearwood to take the poster photo down as police are now using social media to locate suspects.

However, Yearwood did not listen to the advice and he was soon arrested.

“Facebook is a great way to communicate and connect with old friends and family. If you are wanted by the police, it's probably not a good idea to use the ‘Wanted of the Week’ poster of yourself as your profile picture,” Cpl. Brian Bossio wrote on the Stuart Police Department's Facebook page.

Police learned that Yearwood had outstanding warrants for his arrest in another county. Police said that when officers arrived to arrest him, Yearwood went to put on pants. As he put on his jeans, a bag of marijuana fell out so they added a drug charge to charges he was already facing.

Man sentenced to 40 year prison after rejecting plea deal that would have set him free immediately

Raymond Lindsey
By: Chan Yuan

A man was jailed for many years after maintaining his innocence and refusing a plea deal.

Raymond Lindsey Jr., 46, of Texas, who was accused of assaulting a public servant and threatening to kill police officers, could have walked out of court a free man.

However, after rejecting a plea bargain, he was convicted of the charges and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

His lawyer, Willis Everett Smith, said that he never had a client turn down such a great plea deal offer in his 30 years in the business.

Lindsey had already spent 19 months behind bars since his arrest for slamming an apartment door on one officer, threatened to kill several others and breaking items in his home while officers were investigating a domestic dispute between Lindsey and his girlfriend.

His plea deal would have allowed him to be released immediately with “time served.” However, Smith said that his client did not want to plead guilty and he believes that everyone had conspired against him.

Assistant District Attorney Philip Teissier presented evidence during the trial that showed Lindsey being aggressive while officers waited for Lindsey’s girlfriend to collect her belongings so she can leave the apartment.

Lindsey, who had a long criminal history prior to moving to Texas, hurt one officer and threatened to kill the others before he destroyed many objects inside the apartment, including a glass coffee table, flat-screen TV, entertainment center and a bird cage with a live bird inside.

A man was left humiliated after he was caught on camera attempting to have sex with a young teenager.

60-year-old Charles Lawrence III, of New York, was arrested after setting up a meeting with a 13-year-old to have sex.

Lawrence met the boy on the dating site Grindr. The two exchange sexually explicit messages, and Lawrence told the boy that he can be his sex teacher, according to police.

When Lawrence, who works as an accountant and real-estate agent, set up a time to meet with the boy, he was confronted by undercover agents and by cameras.

Attorney John Smriga said that the undercover operation to catch Lawrence and other predators was a joint venture between his office, Fairfield police and former “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen.

Lawrence was lured to a decoy house that was rigged with cameras for an episode of Hansen’s new show, “Hansen vs. Predator.”

Lawrence told investigators that he misread the text message in which the boy told him his age. He claimed that he thought that the boy wrote that he was 18 years old rather than 13 years old.

Attorney Edward Gavin said that the text Lawrence received had a one and a three, which he mistook for a one and an eight.

Lawrence pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted sexual assault, attempted risk of injury to a minor and enticing a minor to have an obscene performance.

Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin did not accept Lawrence’s defense, noting that the case was not about his eyesight or reading.

He was sentenced to two years in prison.

The U.S. Defense Department admitted that Pentagon officials allowed employees to use government credit cards for strip clubs and casinos.

Pentagon employees used government credit cards to charge $100,000 for adult entertainment and nearly $1 million in casinos.

Pentagon officials knew about the spending, and did nothing to stop the employees or punish them.

Even when the United States Department of Defense criticized the spending on adult entertainment and gambling, senior Pentagon officials failed to take appropriate disciplinary action.

Government credit cards can be used for expenses incurred for official government business, particularly during official travel.

However, they cannot be used for private entertainment.

The department’s inspector general found that the Pentagon did not consider the security implications of personal use unrelated to officials travel.

Using the government credit cards at strip clubs and casinos causes potential vulnerabilities to national security, the inspector general said.

An army lieutenant colonel who used the government credit card at casinos did not inform his commanders about the expenses despite assuring that he will.

An Air Force lieutenant colonel who was advised and encouraged to seek help for a gambling problem, was still allowed the government credit card.

Mother orders birthday cake replica of daughter vomiting in the toilet

Abbi Price and her birthday cake
By: Tanya Malhotra

A mother came up with a unique way to show her disapproval of her daughter’s drinking.

18-year-old girl Abbi Price of Coventry, England, received a birthday cake, showing her vomiting into a toilet.

Price said that her mother came up with the idea and ordered the three tier cake. The bottom two tiers were decorated with black icing and purple flowers.

The cake topper was an exact replica of a photo that was taken of Price, vomiting into the toilet during a party.

The cake decorator made a replica of the scene. Price, who is a fun loving teenager, really liked the cake and she published the photos to social media, where it was shared more than 17,000 times.

Abbi said that her mother came up with the design for her birthday cake as a way “to put her off from more binge drinking sessions.”

“I'm usually sensible with my drinking so my mother is usually fine with it. On this one occasion, I had a party. My mother left for an hour, and I went a bit overboard with the drinks.

“This is what she came home to. She took the photo and she always threatened to use it at my 18th,” Price said.

Price said that she thought the mother was going to print the photo onto a cake, but she was pleasantly surprised with the creative replica of the photo.
