A cafe in the United Kingdom, is being criticized for selling bottles of smoothies adorned with Nazi swastikas.

Several customers reported the drink after seeing it on display at the Nin Com Soup, a cafe in the Old Street Station in London.

The drink was named “Nutzy,” as it was made with nuts. A woman reported that she entered the coffee and immediately noticed a large swastika on a bottle called “Nutzy.”

She approached the staff at the counter to discuss this and they called their manager. The manager explained that it was an inverted swastika, which was a Hindu symbol of health and prosperity.

The woman told him that the symbol was offensive for certain people, but the manager insisted that London is a free city. The store employee who invented the smoothie, was identified as John Jordan.

Jordan refused to apologize, and claimed that the message behind the swastikas is being misunderstood. Jordan has since been fired from the cafe.

“Sadly, an employee deemed it appropriate to put a swastika on a smoothie named ‘The Nutzy.’ This was unsanctioned and the bottles were removed immediately upon being alerted by our shop manager.

“Needless to say, the rogue employee has been dismissed. This was incomprehensible, extremely insensitive, and upsetting to all of us.

“We unreservedly apologize. Ben Page-Phillips. Founder,” the company said in a statement.

Owners of the Space World theme park in Japan, were excited with their new attraction, which they called one of a kind and “the world’s first.”
