Doctor falsifies thousands of medical examination records to help unfit truck drivers keep their commercial driver’s licenses

A doctor who wanted to earn extra income, falsified medical records in order to help unfit truck drivers maintain their commercial driver’s licenses, according to police in Georgia.

Atlanta police said that they have arrested 71-year-old Anthony Lefteris, after being accused of entering false information on the records of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The U.S. Department of Transportation requires that individuals seeking to obtain or renew a state issued commercial driver’s license (CDL) must submit to a medical examination performed by a medical examiner and be medically certified as physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle.

These medical examinations ensure that drivers do not suffer from a medical condition that would otherwise impact their ability to drive a commercial vehicle safely.

Commercial drivers present the U.S. DOT Medical Certificate to their State Driver’s Licensing Agency to document their physical fitness to obtain a CDL.

Lefteris, a U.S. DOT Medical Examiner, allegedly failed to perform certain procedures during medical examinations that aid in determining a driver's physical fitness to drive a commercial vehicle, including vision examinations, hearing examinations, and urinalysis.

Despite his failure to perform all required procedures, Lefteris allegedly falsified Medical Examination Forms, documenting test results for procedures he never performed.

As part of the scheme, he also issued U.S. DOT Medical Examiner's Certificates to drivers even though he did not conduct a complete medical examination.

Lefteris subsequently transmitted his results to the U.S. DOT and certified that he performed the medical examinations in accordance with federal regulations.

The DOT estimates that more than 6,600 drivers will have to retake their exams and obtain new U.S. DOT Medical Certificate.

Fritinger later distributed a pornographic image of the 13-year-old girl to a third party. A search of Fritinger’s cellphone revealed numerous images of child pornography.

By: Michelle Parker

Here are some tips to help you stay warm and cozy in your home while keeping your energy bills low.

Close the doors to all of the rooms that you are not using.

For example; when you get up in the morning, close the bedroom doors after leaving.

Keep window shades and curtains closed for added protection to keep the cold out.

At the warmest part of the day, when you have sunlight, pull up the window covering and open the windows to air out the room.

After about 30 minutes to one hour, shut the windows and close the shades.

Clean air ducts of your heating system. Cleaning air ducts will help the heating system work more efficiently.

Put on warm clothes. While you want to be comfortable in your homes, it is a good idea to dress in warm clothes and thick socks.

This will help you keep the heat on a lower temperature and you will love the savings on your bills at the end of each month.

When you feel chilly, before increasing the temperature of your heating system, drink a warm beverage like tea, coffee, cocoa, or water. This will warm your entire body.

Cook dinner at home. Even if you are not the best cook, you can make quick and easy meals in the oven.

This will save you money on restaurant food bills and it will heat your home at the same time.

After you are done with dinner, wash the dishes with warm water instead of using a dishwasher. Cleaning the dishes with warm water will help your hands stay warm.

When you are ready for bed, use a warm blanket. This will help you be warm and comfortable without increasing the heating temperature in the room.

Dress warmly when you go outside. If you are dressed in a warm coat, hat and gloves, then your body will stay warm.

This will ensure that you don’t come home freezing, and you will not feel the need to raise the temperature of your heating system.

A single mother was found dead in her home with her three children at her side.

Police in Spain, were called to a home after the half-naked children were found without food and water.

The children’s plight was uncovered when they finally went outside and told a stranger that they had been waiting at their mother’s bed for a long time, but she “would not open her eyes.”

The children claimed that their mother had been sleeping for three days, and they were unable to wake her up.

The children had not eaten for several days while they were waiting for their mother to get up.

The children, who are 5, 10 and 11 years old, did not know that their mother had died.

Investigators believe that the children had spent more than 24 hours with their mother's body.

However, they don’t know exactly how long she was deceased. The children claimed that they had not eaten for three days.

An autopsy will reveal that information and the cause of death, but authorities believe that she died of natural causes.

The children were taken to a hospital in Palma for a checkup before they were handed over to child services, while authorities are looking for their father.

Police said that the mother came to the country from Nigeria.
