(Scroll down for video) Firefighters who always battle blazes at other people’s properties, were forced to extinguish a fire that broke out in their own home, according to fire officials in Massachusetts.
Firefighters in Concord, said that a fire truck that was out of service, caught on fire and caused damage to a nearby ambulance that was stationed in the fire house.
Fire Chief Mark R. Cotreau said that the Engine 4 truck began burning on Tuesday night. Lieutenant Brad Ferrie, Firefighter Bill Haugh, and Firefighter Kevin Fagerquist, were on duty at the time.
First, the ran out of the fire station as soon as they heard the smoke alarms go off. They then helped battle the blaze along with other firefighters who responded to the scene.
By the time the fire was extinguished, the Engine 4 truck was completely destroyed and will have to be replaced. The cost of a new truck is $600,000.
Luckily, the fire did not cause any structural damage to the brick fire house. Firefighters of the Station 2 fire house, are mourning the damage caused to their home away from home.
