Man shoots backside of friend who was driving SUV on road

A man who fooled around with a gun in the back seat of a vehicle, shot his friend in the behind while he was driving, according to police in Canada.

Edmonton police said that they have arrested 33-year-old Sean Robert Martin, after being accused of shooting the backside of his friend, Adam Matychuk, who was driving an SUV on the road.

Martin pleaded guilty to careless use of a firearm and possession of a firearm within a vehicle.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen vehicle and driving with a blood-alcohol level of over .08 in an unrelated incident.

In addition to these two cases, Martin pleaded guilty to possessing body armor, breaching a recognizance and possessing a controlled substance.

For all of his crimes, Martin was sentenced to serve just 8 months in prison. Martin also got a fine of $2,500. He was banned from driving for a year, and prohibited from possessing weapons for 10 years.

According to the criminal complaint, Martin and his girlfriend were in the back seats of a GMC Yukon while Matychuk was driving and his girlfriend was in the front passenger.

At some point, Martin fired a shot, which hit Matychuk on the behind. Matychuk and his girlfriend went out of the vehicle while Martin and his girlfriend fled from the scene.

Matychuk was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
