A drug dealer is facing a long prison sentence after he admitted to selling drugs that caused over 20 people to overdose on his drugs.

Police announced that 22-year-old Bruce Lamar Griggs, who is also known as “Benz,” of Akron, Ohio, was arrested
for causing the deaths of residents.

Authorities began their investigation after 26 people were hospitalized in Huntington, West Virginia, when they overdosed on drugs that were sold by Griggs.

Two of those people died as a direct result of using the heroin that was laced with fentanyl and carfentanil, an opioid considered 10,000 times stronger than morphine.

Laboratory tests on blood and urine samples from victims showed that he mixed the drugs with the substance that is used as an elephant tranquilizer.

Griggs pleaded guilty in federal court to distributing heroin. He now faces 20 years in prison.
