Shoppers were shocked to see a man walking around totally naked in front of them and their children, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Huddersfield police said that they have arrested 52-year-old Patrick McCarthy, after being accused of walking into an Asda supermarket without his clothes.

McCarthy has been charged with one count of outraging public decency. In court, McCarthy pleaded guilty to a lesser charge as part of a plea bargain agreement with prosecutors.

He will be sentenced for using threatening behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

According to the criminal complaint, early on Wednesday morning, McCarthy walked into the Asda supermarket on Bradford Road.

Two police officers who were in the store to buy refreshments during their break, confronted McCarthy after being informed by members of the public that a man was walking naked.

When the officers asked him where his clothes were, he said that he did not know. McCarthy then swore at the officers.

Police warned McCarthy, and after he ignored them, he was arrested.
