A government official demanded that his family should bury him with a large amount of cash.

52-year-old Charles Obong was a senior personnel officer at the Ministry of Public Service in Uganda, for 10 years before he died.

Obong died after a long illness. He instructed his wife to place 200 million Ugandan shillings ($55,000) in his coffin.

He also told his sister and brother to ensure that his wife followed his wishes.

Obong said that he wants to use the money “to appease God for his earthly sins.” However, he refused to disclose the nature of the sins that needed to be forgiven in the afterlife.

Obong, who was buried in Lira, agreed to allow his family members to exhume his coffin one week after he is buried so that they can remove the money.
