Firefighter calls in fake fires to steal valuables from colleagues at fire stations

(Scroll down for video) A firefighter betrayed his colleagues by stealing their valuables while they were fighting fires, according to police in Canada.

Toronto police said that they have arrested 36-year-old Joshua Pittarelli-Bucks, after being accused of calling in fake fires and stealing valuables from fire stations.

Pittarelli-Bucks is facing numerous charges, including break-and-enter, false alarm of fire, public mischief and possession of crack cocaine.

According to the police investigation, Pittarelli-Bucks called in fake fires, and when his colleagues left the stations to fight the fires, he went through their belongings.

When the firefighters came back, they noticed that their cellphones, watches, jewelry, credit cards and iPads were missing.

The firefighters were extremely sad about the thefts.

Pittarelli-Bucks was caught after the fire chief came back to the station early after realizing that the call was just another false alarm.

When he entered the station, he caught Pittarelli-Bucks red handed taking his colleagues valuables. Pittarelli-Bucks was placed on leave.
