Police in Kentucky, have launched an investigation after a mother shot and killed her husband and daughters.

Officer were called to the home in Williamsburg on Friday night at 10:15 p.m.

A relative who came to the house after being unable to reach the family, called 911.

Deputies arrived at the house and found 41-year-old Courtney Taylor armed with a gun.

Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell said that the woman pointed the gun at two officers. They ordered her to drop the gun, but she refused.

That is when the officer shot her. Courtney was taken to a hospital in critical condition after suffering life-threatening injuries.

Harrell said that officers found her husband, Larry Taylor, 51, and their two daughters, Jessie, 18, and 13-year-old Jolee, dead in their beds.

“There was no struggle. They were all shot in the head,” Harrell said.

If Courtney recovers, police said she will face charges for killing her family.

Harrell also said that Courtney’s husband Larry is the son of former Whitley County judge-executive Jerry Taylor.
