Two brothers of Syracuse, New York, were killed after a girl lured them to her friends so they can be robbed.

The girl was charged with murder for the death of the two teenage brothers in what police believe was a robbery attempt.

Court documents show that the suspects were looking to rob the brothers’ marijuana.

The two men and the girl were arrested and charged with murder and attempted robbery, Syracuse police chief Frank Fowler said.

According to police, 17-year-old Sheahonni Davis contacted the brothers, 17-year-old Daniel Diaz-Marrero and Ismael Diaz-Marrero, 19, and asked them to meet her.

When the brothers arrived, they were ambushed by 19-year-old Toriano Newson and 23-year-old Curtis L. Paige III. The suspects tried to rob the brothers before shooting them.

Ismael Diaz-Marrero died at the scene, police said. His younger brother died at a hospital.

Police said that the brothers had known Davis for a short time before she lured them to be robbed.

The brothers, their father and younger sister arrived in the United States from Cuba, after their mother died about five years ago.

Ismael worked to pay for college. He was a sophomore at Le Moyne College in DeWitt. His younger brother was a senior at a Syracuse high school.
