Judge deliberately runs over his successor with car while honking horn and laughing

An elderly judge who became angry at his successor, used a car in an attempt to harm him, according to police in Kentucky.

Casey County police said that they have arrested 71-year-old Magistrate David Wethington, after being accused of running over Magistrate Bart Woodrum.

Wethington has been charged with wanton endangerment and failure to use precaution to an animal being ridden. He was booked into the Casey County Detention Center, and released without bail.

If convicted, Wethington faces up to five years in prison.

According to the police investigation, Wethington had been a judge for several years before losing an election to Woodrum.

On the day of the assault, Woodrum and others were moving cattle from a field across Griffith Ridge Road. Wethington drove his car on Griffith Ridge Road, and when he saw his successor, he plowed into the cattle and ran him over.

Woodrum told police that Wethington was laughing and honking the horn of his car.
