Pittsburgh police said that at approximately 6:45 a.m., officers responded to a gas station on Baum Boulevard in East Liberty, on a report of an injured man.

Officers located 30-year-old Marco Ortiz, who had been assaulted at his apartment in the 300 block of Amber Street.

According to the investigation, Ortiz and his roommate were arguing about President Donald Trump. The argument turned physical and the roommate bit Ortiz’s right ear off for supporting Trump’s immigration policies.

The victim ran to the nearby gas station to seek help.

Paramedics transported the victim to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition. Officers recovered the ear in the apartment.

Ortiz said that his roommate is from Mexico, and he was afraid that Trump would deport him. The suspect also made threats to kill innocent people, saying that if Trump is going to depart him he will kill many people.

So far, no arrests have been made.
