Couple overdoses on drugs in their car with two young children in the back seat

Police in Florida, were called after a couple was found passed out in their car.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office announced that they have arrested the Manatee County couple after they were found passed out in a car with two infants in the back seat.

Deputies were called to the Texaco gas station located at 19 East Road, Sarasota, just after 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, on a report of two possible overdoses.

When deputies arrived, they located driver William Ballard, 37, and his passenger, Delaney Crissinger, 33, passed out in the front seat of a black SUV with the engine running.

The two infants, who are ages 5 and 18 months old, were secured in car seats in the back seat.

Crissinger was holding a clear bag containing .61 grams of methamphetamine.

Officers who searched the vehicle, discovered an additional 2 grams of the drug, .38 grams of fentanyl and heroin, baggies, a scale, and spoon.

A loaded syringe was also found on the floorboard next to a container of baby formula, police said.

The couple was arrested and taken to the Sarasota County jail.

Ballard was charged with child neglect, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, and driving with a suspended license.

He is being held on $30,120 bond.

Crissinger was charged with child neglect, possession of methamphetamine and possession of narcotics equipment. Her bond was set at $17,000.
