A police officer was shocked to hear a weird excuse from a taxi driver who was speeding, according to a press release by police in the United Kingdom.

The Dorset Traffic Cops said that the taxi driver complained of his farting passengers after he was pulled over for speeding in a residential area.

The incident unfolded on Thursday. “A taxi driver failed to notice the large marked traffic car in his rear view mirror when speeding through Bournemouth town.

“After he was pulled over, the taxi driver blamed the flatulence from his three paying passengers for the reason he was speeding down the street,” police wrote on Facebook.

The driver wanted to get rid of his passengers as quickly as possible, police said.

“The taxi driver was reported for speeding and is likely to be able to do the education course, which costs $150 (£110). Alternatively, he could take the three penalty points and $140 (£100) fine. His speed, along with the area he was speeding in was too much to use discretion,” police added.
