(Scroll down for video) Several police officers were suspended after being accused of attacking a young black man who was arrested in a high crime area, police in France said.

Aulnay-sous-Bois police said that they have arrested 1 police officer on a charge of rape while three others were charged with assault in connection with the attack on the 22-year-old man identified as Theo.

Riots broke out across the country as well as in Paris, to protest the police brutality. Hundreds were arrested for rioting. On Thursday, Theo was arrested near his home in a neighborhood that is ruled by drug dealers.

Surveillance video footage showed police officers dragging Theo with his pants down. They then beat him. One of the officers then used a baton to rape Theo.

Theo was then dragged to a police car, and he was forced sit despite his horrific injuries. One of the officers then realized that there was blood dripping from his bottom.

He started to laugh and took a picture of Theo. The officer said that the picture was so great that it deserves to be uploaded in Snapchat.

He then called Theo a b**ch. Theo needed emergency surgery after suffering a four-inch tear along his rectum. He has been declared unable to work for 60 days and remains in the hospital.

President Francois Hollande visited the rape victim in the hospital to show his support. The police officers denied the allegations, saying that Theo fell onto the baton during a struggle.
