(Scroll down for video) An elderly doctor in Russia, who prides herself for saving many lives, is still going strong.

89-year-old Alla Illyinichna Levushkina is a surgeon at the Ryazan City Hospital near Moscow.

Levushkina has been a surgeon for 67 years. She said that she had performed more than 10,000 operations during her career.
Some of the operations she carried out were very risky and other doctors refused to do them.

Levushkina is very proud of her accomplishments, and rightfully so. She said that she saved patients by doing surgeries that other doctors did not want to.

“There are people I saved by performing operations on patients that nobody else wanted. I did them, and they are still alive and have grown children,” Levushkina said.

Levushkina is believed to be the oldest practicing surgeon in the world. She is not planning to retire anytime soon.

In addition to keeping up with her work every day from 8:00 a.m. , Levushkina takes care of her disabled nephew and eight cats.

When she was asked for the secret to her long and active life, Levushkina said: “I didn’t find any secret to longevity. I just eat everything, laugh a lot and cry a lot.”
