A man in France, has filed a lawsuit against Uber for ruining his marriage.

The businessman claims that Uber sent his wife a list of rides he took to see his lover.

Attorney David-Andre Darmon said that his client used his wife’s phone only one time to call Uber. He then immediately logged out of the application.

However, unbeknown to him, Uber kept sending notifications to his wife’s iPhone despite being logged out, revealing his travel history.

The wife became angry over his infidelity and she left him.

The couple has since divorced. The man is suing Uber for $48 million, for disclosing his private information to his wife.

Darmon said that the app had a virus and it sent messages to the wrong phone despite being logged out.

“The virus has caused problems in my client’s private life,” Darmon added.

The glitch reportedly occurred only to users with iPhones. Android phones were not be affected. Uber has since updated their software.

Uber did not comment on this specific case as a lawsuit is involved. However, they did say that it is their priority to protect their clients’ personal information.
