A drug trafficker put two young children at risk by hiding a large amount of cocaine in their car seats, according to police in Texas.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 21-year-old Victor Menses, after being caught transporting $500,000 worth of cocaine.

Menses has been charged with one count of drug possession.

According to the criminal complaint, on Tuesday around 1:15 p.m., officers stopped Menses on Interstate 10 after committing a traffic violation.

When officers spoke about illegal drugs, they noticed that Menses was getting nervous. Officers requested consent to search the Dodge Charger, and Menses agreed.

When officers searched the back of the vehicle, they saw two babies strapped in car seats. The officers then found $500,000 worth of cocaine, weighing more than 10 pounds, underneath the babies.
