Two teenage girls in the United Kingdom, were left in tears after a worker at McDonald’s forced them out of the restaurant for kissing each other.

16-year-old Kristeen Ferenczi of Farnworth, said that she and her 17-year-old girlfriend went to eat at the McDonald’s located at the Bolton town centre, on Thursday around 12:30 p.m.

While they were eating, Ferenczi noticed the McDonald’s cleaner looking at her. She then kissed her girlfriend on the cheek.

The cleaner, who was not identified, approached the lesbian couple, and said that what they did was not appropriate.

Ferenczi asked the cleaner if she was homophobic, but she did not answer. Ferenczi felt that she and her girlfriend were supposed to leave the restaurant.

They quickly left and burst into tears. Ferenczi called the McDonald’s manager and filed a complaint.

McDonald’s apologized to Ferenczi and her girlfriend, saying that homophobia is unacceptable and they will talk with the cleaner about the incident.
