A serial bike thief was placed behind bars after police found a large quantity of stolen bicycles in the front yard of his home, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Oxford police said that a total of 164 bikes were seized as a result of a house search, following the arrest of the bike thief at his home.

The 48-year-old serial bike thief is facing a charge of handling stolen goods. Police said that this was the largest ever cache of stolen bikes they have ever recovered at one time.

Police believe that most stolen bikes belong to students of the nearby Oxford University. The serial thief was caught after police noticed him pushing two bikes on the street.

When police checked the bikes’ serial numbers, they learned that they were stolen. Police then went to the suspect’s home nearby, and recovered 162 additional stolen bikes.

All bikes were stacked up in the man’s front yard and they were in full view of the public.
