(Scroll down for video) People feared for their safety and walked off an airplane after the pilot had a public meltdown.

People boarded the plane going from Austin, Texas, to San Francisco, California, before the pilot came into the aircraft dressed in her regular clothes.

She asked passengers if she should stay with her street clothes or if they want to wait until she changes into her uniform.

She then began to rant about how she was going through a divorce and about politics.

A passenger named Randy Reiss, was the first to leave the plane, and 20 others followed.

Reiss tweeted about the strange turn of events. He wrote: “I’m shaking right now. I just left my United flight 455 because the captain demonstrated that she was not mentally in a safe space.

“She got on in street clothes and asked if we were Ok with her flying like that. We all said okay. Cute, right?”

She then said: “Sorry, I’m going through a divorce. Ummm,” according to Reiss.

The pilot then said “I don’t care if you voted for Trump or Clinton. They’re both a******s,” Reiss wrote.

After Reiss and the others got off the plane, the pilot left as well.

United Airlines spokesman Charlie Hobart confirmed that the pilot was removed from United Airlines Flight 455.

“We hold our employees to the highest standards and we removed that pilot from that flight,” he said. “We brought in a new crew and they operated that flight.”
